Biography

Christina I. Shaw is an associate attorney for the Ayala Law Firm, PC. She practices primarily in immigration law, specifically removal defense and criminal matters relating to immigration. She has represented clients in a variety of immigration proceedings, including bond hearings, credible fear assistance, reasonable fear assistance, applications for relief and merits hearings. Christina has engaged in active trial practice, has extensive knowledge in the appeals process with the Board of Immigration Appeals and extensive experience with immigration appeals in the United States Court of appeals for the Ninth Circuit. She has been named as a mentor for the Community Immigration Law Placement Clinic at the University of Arizona James E. Rogers College of Law.

Christina is a native to Phoenix, Arizona. After graduating from Arizona State University, she attended Loyola University College of Law New Orleans. While at Loyola she served as the co-chair of the Public Interest Law Group and participated in The Stuart H. Smith Law Clinic and Center for Social Justice. After law school, Christina worked for her father in his immigration practice, while assisting several attorneys with legal research.

Christina believes as a lawyer, her sole purpose is to be of service to her clients and the legal community. Among the people Christina most admires is her father, John D. Shaw, a well-respected member of the immigration community. Mr. Shaw has taught her the importance of representing the underserved, he has taught her how to be resilient and relentless in her practice and in the courtroom. Her father's compassion for his clients is the reason she became a lawyer.
